Physiological Effects Of Single Bout Of Moderate And High Intensity Interval Exercise On Selective Attention In Young Adults by Farida ahmad in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences Abstract Objectives:  The primary objective of the study was to determine the effect of moderate intensity exercise and high intensity interval exercise on selective attention. Methodology:  This experimental study was conducted at Khyber Girls Medical College Peshawar from September 2020 to February 2021. A total 34 young adults were recruited who were called for two experimental sessions. During 1st experimental session, participants performed moderate intensity exercise of 15 minutes. Forward digit span test were done both before and after exercise. They were then called after one week for 2nd experimental session. Successful Jatene procedure for great arteries transposition correction in newborn with SARSCoV-2 infection by Guillermo Careaga-Reyna MD in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences

Successful Jatene procedure for great arteries transposition correction in newborn with SARSCoV-2 infection by Guillermo Careaga-Reyna MD in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences Abstract Pandemic of COVID-19 represents a challenge for treatment of patients with congenital herat disease. We present a newborn with great vessels transposition and positive SARS-CoV-2 PCR test. The patient was submitted to a successful surgical treatment with corrective Jatene procedure, requiring opened chest wall during 72 h of postoperative period and 43 days of total in-hospital lenght of stay. KEY-WORDS : COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, great vessel transposition, Jatene procedure, congenital heart disease. Introduction Coronaviruses are single stranded ribonucleic acid viruses with a diameter of 60–140 nm and a high rate of genetic mutations and recombinations, rendering them capable of escaping from the immune system and causing novel infections (1). In less than six months, t...

Myxoid liposarcoma of the spermatic cord: A rare entity by Emmanuel E. Sadava in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences

Myxoid liposarcoma of the spermatic cord: A rare entity by Emmanuel E. Sadava in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences Abstract An 81-year-old man consulted at our hospital for evaluation of a long-established left inguinal mass. The patient denied experiencing pain, food intolerance, constipation or urinary tract symptoms in the past. A physical examination revealed a 15x10cm painless mass in the left inguinal region, distinct from the testicle, with no palpable changes during Valsalva´s maneuver. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a 79mm heterogeneous lesion of the spermatic cord which projected itself through the inguinal canal into the scrotal sac, displacing the testis inferiorly. Laboratory testings were negative for testicular tumor markers such as α fetoprotein and human chorionic gonadotropin-β. A surgical resection of the inguinal tumor with an “en-bloc” inguinal orchiectomy was performed. The inguinal floor was repaired with a modified Ba...

Bisphosphonates combined with TNF inhibitor (Adalimumab) in the treatment of tibial osteomyelitis in children by Chen Li in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences

Bisphosphonates combined with TNF inhibitor (Adalimumab) in the treatment of tibial osteomyelitis in children by Chen Li in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences Abstract A 15-year-old girl had intermittent pain in her left leg since October 2020. The imaging examination suggested that tibial tumors were not excluded. Bone biopsy showed chronic osteomyelitis. Another lesion resection was performed. The postoperative pain was not relieved. The patient came to our hospital for treatment. The X-ray, three-dimensional reconstruction CT and MRI of the left lower leg all showed obvious bone damage and bone thickening. (Figure.1A、B and C). Therefore, we consider aseptic osteomyelitis, which belongs to the category of SAPHO in children, and that can have no skin manifestations. In this case, the diagnosis is mainly based on the typical radiological manifestations of the patient [1]. Bisphosphonates were given for 3 months. The pain of the patient's left leg...

Prevalence of arterial hypertension in pilots of the Ecuadorian Air Force residing at the "Eloy Alfaro" Air Base in Manta, according to the Military Rank by Andrea Villarreal-Juris in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences

Prevalence of arterial hypertension in pilots of the Ecuadorian Air Force residing at the "Eloy Alfaro" Air Base in Manta, according to the Military Rank by Andrea Villarreal-Juris in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences Abstract Introduction  Hypertension is the most common condition observed in primary care and one of the leading causes of death if it is not early detected and properly treated. Little importance has been given to this pathology in the military population, assuming that due to their strenuous physical activity they are exempt from suffering it. Objective  To determine the prevalence of arterial hypertension in pilots of the Ecuadorian Air Force according to the Military Rank. Methodology  In July 2018, an observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive study was conducted. Seventy pilots residing at the "Eloy Alfaro" Air Base in the city of Manta were included, with a Military Rank of Second Lieutenant, Lieutenant, ...

Basal cell carcinoma resection in an Ecuadorian patient with Gorlin-Goltz syndrome by Andrea Villarreal-Juris in Journal of Clinical Case Reports Medical Images and Health Sciences Abstract Gorlin-Goltz syndrome is an inherited dominant autosomal disorder characterized by a predisposition to numerous cancers. The clinical-pathological findings of this syndrome are very diverse. The objective of this report is to present an Ecuadorian patient with Gorlin-Goltz syndrome who underwent surgical resection of basal cell carcinoma compatible lesions. Conclusion:  Gorlin-Goltz syndrome encompasses a variety of clinical signs and symptoms, including important oral manifestations and skin lesions that must be recognized to achieve an early specialty referral, thus reducing the risk of malignancy through a multidisciplinary treatment.
